CECs (CONTINUING EDUCATIONAL CREDITS) - OVERVIEW
F.I.T. Principles brought the ACE courses into South Africa to raise standards of education in the health and fitness industry. One of the best attributes about ACE is that they offer Continuing Educational Courses (CECs). The problem with local courses is that once certified, trainers never need to update their knowledge of new and updated training techniques. This has resulted in trainers who qualified 5, 6 or 7 years ago but are using old training techniques. CECs allow ACE students to keep up to date with the latest health and fitness education across a spectrum of courses.
Once certified as an ACE personal trainer, you need to do a minimum of 2.0 credits of CECs in the following 2 years to keep up your certification. Each CEC has a different value between 0.2 and 3.0 and they can all be done through F.I.T. Principles. There are about 100 different courses to choose from.
CECs are also accumulative, so the expiry date will keep getting extended the more CECs you complete.
